The first commit of the summer has come down for the Oregon Ducks. Three-star offensive lineman Lex Mailangi announced his commitment to the Ducks on Wednesday, just days after visiting Eugene for his final official visit.
Mailangi chose the Ducks over UCLA, Cal and SMU. Oregon maintained its position as the leader in the recruitment throughout his official visits, so the decision to set a commitment date shortly after visiting the Ducks in Eugene was telling.
While in Eugene, Mailangi got to connect with five-star Oregon quarterback commit Will Mencl, and they could become the future battery of the Ducks’ offense. Mailangi has experience playing guard and center and will likely continue to develop at both positions.

The Mater Dei standout joins four-star Gus Corsair as the only two interior offensive linemen committed to the Ducks in the 2027 class. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 350 pounds, Mailangi is a physical blocker and moves well for his size. His versatility will be key for the Ducks as they rework the future of the offensive line after the upcoming season.
Oregon has also locked in a pair of offensive tackles with four-star Cameron Wagner and three-star Avery Michael. Mailangi also grew up playing youth football with freshman lineman Tommy Tofi, who impressed this spring. The future along the line of scrimmage appears to be in good hands.
The Ducks are still tracking for another top-five recruiting class with more top targets set to commit later this summer.
