When it comes to the mistreatment of Caitlin Clark, both from the WNBA league office and her fellow players, it doesn’t appear there’s any end in sight.
As a result, former NFL quarterback and WFAN host Boomer Esiason thinks it’s time for the Indiana Fever superstar to part ways with the WNBA in favor of an international league.

After Clark was once again assaulted by an opponent on Wednesday when Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas kneed Clark in the groin and put a fist in her throat, both of which were missed by officials, we were once again reminded of what Clark is up against.
And Esiason has seen enough — he thinks Clark should go play overseas, where she would be more appreciated and could make more money.
“If I were Caitlin Clark, I would seriously consider going to play overseas somewhere and get royal treatment,” Esiason said. “And get real money.”
Esiason’s WFAN co-host, Gregg Giannotti, also chimed in, claiming Clark is the victim of “petty jealousy” and “is not being treated with any sort of respect whatsoever.”

Caitlin Clark’s frustration is boiling over
Clark has gotten more and more fed up with the entire situation, which is apparent because we’re seeing more and more on-court outbursts from the WNBA superstar.
We typically see stars in professional sports get preferential treatment or, at the very least, fair treatment from the league, including from the officials.
That doesn’t appear to be the case with Clark, who is not protected enough by the WNBA, which is baffling because she’s the league’s biggest draw by a mile.

Now, that’s not to say the league needs to rig things in her favor, but the WNBA must do a much better job of making players who cheap shot Clark pay in order to set a precedent.

If jealousy is at play here, that’s also baffling because Clark is the reason why players were able to get the raises they did in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Clark has increased the popularity of the league all by herself and the entire league should be thanking her profusely for doing so.
Instead, the opposite is true, and that lack of appreciation, along with her personal well-being, should have Clark seriously considering playing elsewhere.

If Clark left for an overseas league, it would be devastating to the WNBA, which would instantly lose the tons of viewers Clark brings in.
And nothing would make Clark’s supporters happier, and we can’t say we’d blame them for feeling that way with everything that has transpired since she entered the league.
