Former Tennessee basketball guard and Knoxville Catholic star BJ Edwards has signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings, according to 247Sports.
Edwards went undrafted the 2026 NBA Draft, but will likely have a chance to compete for the Kings in the NBA Summer League.

The 6-foot-3 guard recorded career highs in his senior year with SMU, including 12.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals. He shot 47.4% from the floor and 37.2% from 3-point range.
Edwards was a consistent starter at SMU. He played in all 35 games in the 2024-25 season, but was limited to 28 games in 2026. He missed the end of SMU’s season with an ankle injury, including the final the game of the season in the NCAA Tournament First Four game against Miami (Ohio).
Edwards committed to Tennessee basketball as a four-star prospect and the No. 3 player in the state in the 247Sports Composite. He played in 14 games for the Vols before transferring to SMU for the remaining three seasons of his career.
At Catholic, Edwards was named TSSAA Mr. Basketball in Division II-AA in 2021. He, along with Georgia guard Blue Cain, led the Irish to a state championship appearance in 2022.
