Marina Mabrey exploded for 53 points in the Toronto Tempo‘s win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, tying the WNBA single-game scoring record. A notable ex-teammate showed her some love (and jokes) in the aftermath.
Angel Reese, who played with Mabrey during her rookie season with the Chicago Sky, chimed in after the monster performance to say, “yeah i guess Marina deserves a ride in the RR.” It’s a callback to Mabrey saying she was “jealous” over Reese’s recent Rolls-Royce purchase.

“Ok yeah I’m officially jealous I want that car,” Mabrey commented on Reese’s TikTok post, which featured her new Rolls-Royce Cullinan with a slick pink interior.
After Mabrey’s exit from the Chicago Sky, rumors of Reese being a motivating factor swirled. They dispelled that nonsense back in January 2025, with Mabrey saying “I love Angel” in an Instagram video together.
They’ve since thrived as their respective WNBA paths differed. Reese has become an integral element to the Atlanta Dream, who are 12-5 and atop the Eastern Conference. Mabrey is fourth in scoring, just tied the single-game scoring record and has tied the league’s single-game 3-point record with nine twice in the last week.

The Sky, meanwhile, remain rudderless at 5-12.
