Former Manasquan High School and Point Pleasant Beach High basketball star Marina Mabrey dropped 53 to tie the record for most points in a single WNBA game Thursday night in a Toronto Tempo 125-97 win over the Los Angelas Sparks.

Mabrey is now one of three players to hold the record between A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces, 2023) and Liz Cambage (Dallas Wings, 2018).

The nine-year vet was 50% from deep, hitting nine 3-pointers to go with 10 made shots from the free throw line. She played 32 minutes on the floor and was hot from the opening quarter to help create the blowout score.

She was selected in the second round by Sparks back in 2019. She went on to play overseas and for four different WNBA teams before landing in Toronto.

The 29-year-old from Belmar helped Manasqaun win two Tournament of Champion titles and was a McDonald’s All-American. Mabrey went on to play four years at Notre Dame and became a national champion in 2018 for the Fighting Irish.
