In a week where fans first watched Caitlin Clark receive a technical foul for clapping, then saw officials miss a punch to her throat, many were hoping the drama would finally end. But the week is continuing, and so are the Indiana Fever’s woes. Joining them are two stars on their next opponent’s team.
Before the Saturday matchup between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Fever, the WNBA’s official injury report listed Cameron Brink and Kelsey Plum out.

Plum, who is averaging 23.9 points per game, second-best this season, has been sidelined indefinitely with a lower left leg injury after rushing back from an earlier ankle sprain. She will be re-evaluated in four weeks and is expected to miss at least ten games.
Her teammate, Brink, also continues recovering from the severe ankle sprain she suffered earlier this month, leaving the Sparks without one of the league’s premier rim protectors. She is expected to be on the sidelines for at least another two weeks.
So a game that was supposed to feature some of the biggest names in women’s basketball will now be missing three of them as Caitlin Clark remains out.
After facing severe physicality against the Phoenix Mercury, the 24-year-old left Wednesday’s game with 5:15 remaining in the third quarter. She is doing fine, but head coach Stephanie White doesn’t know when she will return.

“No indication. Obviously, it’s a good time because we have all week next week. So we’ll take this opportunity just to get her treatment, get her healthy, get her back on the floor, and see what happens.”
That was probably the last answer anyone in Indy wanted to hear. But ESPN predicts she will return on July 5, when the Fever return after a week-long bye. The team will still walk on eggshells for the player.
The point guard had missed a huge chunk of the 2025 season due to several injuries and returned this season with back issues. She had also missed the May 20th game against the Portland Fire due to a back problem.
But while Indiana continues to wait for more clarity on her injury, ESPN still predicts the Fever will have a 67.4 percent winning probability in the game, which could be higher in real-time. The Spark will be missing its best scorer in Plum and the best rim defender in Brink.

Meanwhile, the Fever’s strength is its high-scoring offense, where Aliyah Boston is their best shot at points in the paint, and Kelsey Mitchell remains the third-best scorer in the league, who is coming off a 30-point performance on Wednesday. The Fever have also showed they can win even without Clark on the floor, and that’s what they will be hoping for to bounce back from the 111-109 loss at home.
