Seven players scored in double figures on Wednesday night as Chicago routed the visiting Fire 101-78, shooting 52.2% from the floor. Skylar Diggins led the onslaught with 15 points and six assists, Sydney Taylor and Jacy Sheldon each dropped 14 points, and Azura Stevens went for 11 points and 11 rebounds in the romp. The Sky may get a boost on Friday night when five-time All-Star Courtney Vandersloot, out since tearing her right ACL a year ago, is expected to return.
Megan Gustafson paced the Fire with 17 points in the loss, with Sarah Ashlee Barker adding 13 points and Carla Leite finishing with 10 points and six assists while hitting just 1-of-8 shots on the night. Portland hit 10-of-25 from 3-point range but shot only 37.7% overall.
Diggins averages 14.6 points and 4.7 assists for the Sky, with Kamilla Cardoso checking in with 13.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Leite tops Portland with averages of 13.9 points and 5.6 assists, while Bridget Carlson gets 13.4 points per game.
