Atlanta Dream Announce Signing of WNBA Champion Guard Jaylyn Sherrod

The Atlanta Dream have had an up-and-down season so far in 2026. While they remain a top-four team, they have lost their last three games against the Golden State Valkyries (twice) and the Seattle Storm.

Despite their recent struggles, the Dream boast a deep squad headlined by Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. The likes of Jordin Canada and Naz Hillmon continue to impress as well, raising optimism that they will be able to get back on track sooner rather than later.

Interestingly, as the Dream look to further improve the roster, they made a move on Monday.

The Dream announced that they have signed guard Jaylyn Sherrod to a developmental contract. Sherrod was part of the New York Liberty‘s championship team in 2024, making 10 appearances in the regular season and two in the playoffs.

Sherrod has career averages of 1.4 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals per game. She was also part of the Liberty’s roster for 2025 but was later waived. She eventually joined the Minnesota Lynx for the rest of the campaign.

Under the player development contract, Sherrod will be allowed to play in a maximum of 12 games with the Dream. She can also join Atlanta in training sessions and practices, as well as travel with the team.
