As Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies coaching staff turn their attention to the 2028 class, in-state three-star quarterback AJ Tuivaiave is an intriguing name to keep an eye on.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound product of Graham Kapowsin High School, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 362 overall prospect and No. 25 quarterback by the 247Sports Composite, has been a frequent unofficial visitor to Montlake and could quickly turn into one of Fisch and position coach JP Losman’s top priorities in 2028.

With eight other offers, including Arizona State, BYU, California, Miami, and Oregon, all among the interested parties, the Huskies appear to have put themselves in a solid position early in the recruitment of the strong-armed signal caller.
After completing 70 percent of his passes for 3,029 yards and 32 touchdowns with just 2 interceptions during his sophomore year, Tuivaiave should continue to rise and accrue more interest from Power Four programs across the nation throughout the summer and into his junior season.
On film, he shows an impressive ability to navigate the pocket and make plays with his legs, shedding would-be tacklers with contact balance before escaping and delivering the ball downfield both on the move and after setting his feet. Combined with his ability to layer throws effectively to all three levels of the field and no fear in attacking tight windows, he could prove to be a strong fit in Fisch’s offense as his high school career continues.

The Huskies have handed out 16 offers to quarterbacks in the 2028 class, and as things start to become more clear on Washington’s target list, Tuivaiave’s talent, plus Fisch’s emphasis on in-state recruiting, could valut him to the top of the board.
