LAS VEGAS – Alessandro Costa met the media Saturday after his win over Cody Durden at UFC 329.
Costa (17-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC) submitted Durden (18-11-1 MMA, 7-9-1 UFC) to open the prelims at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. After cutting Durden’s head, Costa forced Durden to tap to a rear-naked choke in the second round.

Costa now has three straight wins at flyweight – all in 2026, and all by stoppage. He’s at the point now he thinks he’s earned a shot at redemption from his loss to Amir Albazi in late 2022 in his promotional debut.
In that bout, he stepped in on short notice after Albazi lost both Alex Perez and Brandon Royval as opponents. Costa got to the third round, but lost midway through by knockout.
“I think it’s more than the time has arrived – I have that voice now and the choice to pick somebody,” Costa said at his post-fight news conference. “I think fighting Amir Albazi would be great. I took that fight on short notice, on two weeks’ notice, and I’m more than ready for that rematch to happen.
“If he’s ready to fight, I’d love to fight him at Noche UFC (in September). That’s one I’d love to have up next.”
