Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet has officially completed the signing of Johnathan Motley after the American big man finalized his departure from Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv on Thursday.
The 31-year-old has agreed to a multi-year contract and arrives in Belgrade with significant experience, having played 107 EuroLeague games and 46 NBA contests with the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks following his college career at Baylor.
Motley played a major role in Hapoel’s historic 2024-25 campaign, averaging 16.7 points and 4.8 rebounds while leading the club to the BKT EuroCup title.
He earned Finals MVP honors after averaging 22.0 points in the championship series against Dreamland Gran Canaria.
He remained an important contributor in Hapoel’s first EuroLeague season under Dimitris Itoudis, averaging 8.3 points while shooting 65.4 percent from two-point range and helping the team reach the playoffs.
Domestically, he averaged 14.1 points over 56 Winner League games.
Motley becomes another key offseason addition for Crvena Zvezda, joining David Kramer, Chris Jones and Nikola Djurisic as new head coach Ibon Navarro continues reshaping the roster.
