Indiana basketball advanced to the finals of the FISU America Games on Saturday with a 107-40 win over Chile. The Hoosiers once again built an insurmountable lead in the early going and played the entire fourth quarter with a lineup mostly featuring true freshmen and walk-ons.
The win sets up a rematch for IU in the finals on Monday against a Virgin Islands team it beat by 57 points in the group stage. The Virgin Islands pulled of an upset in the other semifinal over Argentina.

4Q Indiana basketball 107, Chile 40: Indiana’s true freshmen and walk-ons protected the team’s big lead. Drew Snively and Justin Monden played the entire quarter. The Hoosiers needed to rotate walk-ons each game with the tournament allowing an active roster of only 13 players.

3Q Indiana basketball 79, Chile 32: The first half opened with Bryce Lindsay coming up with a steal at half court and setting up Sam Alexis for another alley-oop. A few minutes later, Prince-Alexander Moody set up Alexis for another alley-oop with a pass off the backboard. Indiana coach Darian DeVries sent his walk-ons onto the floor earlier than he has all tournament and Aiden Sherrell didn’t play at all in the third quarter.

2Q Indiana basketball 65, Chile 20: Prince-Alexander Moody knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers and set up Trent Sisley for an alley-oop to give IU a 41-point lead. Indiana really pushed the pace with Chile struggling to get into any kind of offensive rhythm.

1Q Indiana basketball 34, Chile 12: Indiana basketball overwhelmed Chile in the paint, and leaned into its size advantage with a lineup featuring Aiden Sherrell at the four and Sam Alexis at the five. Sherrell got to float more on the perimeter — he showed his range with a 3-pointer — but still managed to crash the boards to help clean up any missed shots.

1Q Indiana basketball 22, Chile 7: Indiana basketball guard Darren Harris scored nine points off the bench to help the Hoosiers build an early double-digit lead. He knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and had a fastbreak dunk.
