Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially completed the signing of point guard Tamir Blatt, confirming the Israeli international as one of the club’s key offseason additions.
The 29-year-old will remain in his home country after agreeing to a three-year contract with the EuroLeague club coached by Dimitris Itoudis, keeping him with Hapoel through the 2028-29 season.
Blatt returns to Hapoel for a second spell after spending last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
In EuroLeague action, he averaged 6.8 points, 4.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 36.5% from three-point range.
His move follows another notable transfer between the two Israeli rivals this summer, with Yam Madar leaving Hapoel to join Maccabi.
Blatt began his professional career with Hapoel before later playing for Hapoel Holon, Hapoel Jerusalem, Alba Berlin and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
During his time in Germany, he won both the Bundesliga title and the German Cup with Alba.
In domestic competition last season, the veteran guard averaged 9.6 points and 4.5 assists while shooting 39.3% from beyond the arc.
Throughout his career, he has captured two Israeli league championships and five State Cup titles.
