Caitlin Clark is perhaps the biggest star in the WNBA right now and she has been supported by President Donald Trump for some time.
The WNBA is in the midst of a debate surrounding whether or not trans athletes should be able to compete in the competition.

Royce White and Enes Kanter have recently declared themselves for the 2027 WNBA draft, and the reaction to that has been mixed.
But when speaking back in 2024, Donald Trump did ask if Clark had the ability to shoot the way she does in the NBA.

Donald Trump once asked if Caitlin Clark could ‘shoot that way in the NBA’
Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball before then becoming the number one overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.
After joining the Indiana Fever, she received high praise from Trump during her rookie year.
Speaking on the ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast, as quoted by Breitbart in November 2024, the US President said: “She’s incredible, by the way. I watch, too. I think she’s incredible.”

Trump went on to ask if Clark could shoot that way in the NBA: “The shot, I watch this shot go in. It’s like, couldn’t she shoot that way in the NBA? Give her the ball. She’s unbelievable. It’s a phenomenon. It’s something that is taking place, and it’s unusual.”
In the years since, the 24-year-old has very much lived up to the high praise she was given by Trump.
Most recently, Clark and Kelsey Mitchell made WNBA history, combining for the most points by a duo in an 11-game stretch.
Elsewhere, Robert Griffin III went as far as to claim that ‘Caitlin Clark is a generational talent‘.
