Draymond Green had an unexpected scare during his offseason trip to China when a huge lion-head goose suddenly appeared behind him.
The Warriors veteran was enjoying food at a table in Shantou when he noticed the bird standing extremely close. His response was immediate.
“Oh s–t! No! No!” Green yelled as he quickly got up and moved away.
People surrounding the NBA star laughed at the reaction, and Green soon joined them once he realized what had happened. The clip quickly gained attention online.
The lion-head goose is especially large, with some weighing between 20 and 26 pounds.
Native to the Chaoshan area of Guangdong province, it is recognizable by the prominent bump above its bill and its unusual neck features.
Green’s encounter came during a China tour that has included appearances with fans, local activities and food experiences.
The moment provided a humorous contrast for a player known for rarely backing away from confrontation on the basketball court.
This time, however, the four-time NBA champion wanted nothing to do with his feathered visitor.
