Tamir Blatt’s future with Hapoel Tel Aviv is already uncertain despite the point guard recently signing a three-year contract with the club.

According to Ynet, Blatt is not participating in Hapoel’s preseason training in Sofia after reportedly falling outside head coach Dimitris Itoudis’ plans for the 2026–27 campaign.

Hapoel is now searching for another European team willing to take on the 29-year-old’s contract.

A season-long loan to another EuroLeague club is reportedly among the possibilities being considered.

Blatt brings significant experience, having made 162 EuroLeague appearances during his time with ALBA Berlin and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Last season, he also earned the second EuroLeague MVP of the Round award of his career.

Before his club situation is settled, Blatt is expected to join Israel’s national team in Riga for the upcoming 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

Israel enters the second qualifying stage with a 2–4 record in Group K and will face Poland and Latvia as it attempts to improve its position.
