AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State‘s Killyan Toure underwent a successful surgery on his right shoulder Friday and is expected to be ready to play basketball in January.
Toure was injured last week while working at Damian Lillard‘s Formula Zero Elite Camp in Salt Lake City.

“This is an unfortunate setback for Killyan,” Cyclones coach T.J. Otzelberger said. “He has been an important part of our program and we’re looking forward to having him back for the second half of the season. Right now, our focus is on his health and recovery.”
Toure, a 6-foot-3 guard from France, started all 37 games last season, tying the school record for starts by a freshman. He averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
In his NCAA Tournament debut, Toure tallied 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists against Tennessee State. He became the first freshman in NCAA Tournament history to record those numbers in a game.
