Boston College Scores 2027 Verbal From Germantown Academy’s Oliver Ritchey
NEW COMMIT: Boston College has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Oliver Ritchey of Hellertown, Pa. Ritchey is a Junior National qualifier who excels in freestyle and IM.
He will join Seth Burger in Chestnut Hill as a member of the Eagles’ Class of 2031.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Boston College! I want to thank my mom and dad, family, coaches, and teammates for pushing me to become the best version of myself and getting me to where I am today. A special thank you to Coach Dara and Coach Bruno for giving me this incredible opportunity. Go Eagles!”
Ritchey, who does his club swimming with Germantown Academy Aquatic, most recently competed at NCSA Summer Championships where he earned four best times with four top-18 finishes. He won the 500 free at St. Mary’s City Speedo Sectionals in March where he also took third in the 200 free, sixth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 400 IM.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:39.86
- 500 free – 4:29.14
- 1000 free – 9:22.27
- 200 IM – 1:53.58
- 400 IM – 4:02.70
Ritchey is a senior at Germantown Academy. He placed fourth in the 500 free and fifth in the 200 free at the 2026 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships after taking 16th in both of those events at that meet in 2025 as a sophomore.
Ritchey’s top time in the 1000 free would’ve ranked second on the Eagles’ lineup last year.
