Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink held nothing back while addressing former NBA center Enes Kanter’s recent antics involving the WNBA’s trans athlete controversy.
Calling the transgender debate surrounding the league a “non-issue,” Brink accused Kanter of targeting a “vulnerable” community purely for clicks, likes, and social media attention.

Kanter’s WNBA Draft campaign is still making waves across the basketball world. What started as a viral post claiming a rulebook loophole allowed him to enter the 2027 Draft quickly escalated into real-world drama.
The former Boston Celtics big man doubled down on his stunt by showing up courtside at a game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, wearing a shirt that touched on the trans athlete debate.
After getting into a confrontation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud, arena security escorted him out, and the Sky later banned him from the building entirely.

Speaking about the whole drama, Brink did not hold back when asked about Kanter. She dismissed the entire debate as fake outrage and went directly after Kanter’s motives.
“I think it’s a non-issue and I think it’s people trying to just come for the trans community, and I just don’t stand for that,” Brink said.
“I think, I don’t even know what the [expletive] his name is, Enes Kanter, he’s a stupid piece of [expletive], and I think a lot of people think that, and I think he’s just trying to stay relevant.”
Brink called out the former NBA player for using a sensitive topic just to boost his own online profile.

“Taking something that’s a non-issue right now and just trying to use it for clickbait or for views, for likes, and then targeting a vulnerable community, is just really low,” Brink added.
Kanter is not the only former NBA player pulling this move. Ex-first-round pick Royce White also declared for the WNBA Draft, filing paperwork, and labeling himself a “Black trans lesbian.”
Behind the scenes, the WNBA quietly informed media outlets that neither player will be granted eligibility. Despite those reports, both Kanter and White keep doubling down with TV appearances, podcast interviews, and social media posts.

The whole saga has generated endless noise, splitting fans and commentators down the middle. Some view the players as trolls attacking a vulnerable group, while others see them as exposing a flawed rulebook.
