Training camps are in full affect around the NFL with fans able to see their favorite players take the field ahead of the upcoming season. Camp is a time for social media to go crazy with their quarterbacks throwing dimes in 7-on-7 action, or ripping apart one of their receivers for dropping the first football thrown their way. With a couple of days of practice in the books, let’s look at some of the buzz coming out of the AFC East.
For the Buffalo Bills one of the questions was how the team would look without Sean McDermott as head coach of the team. Perhaps guard Alec Anderson said it best about the vibes with new head coach Joe Brady by stating “(i)t’s kind of like having your uncle come over… …do stuff that your parents wouldn’t really allow you to do.”
When it comes to the players on the field, fans were waiting to see all offseason if wide receiver DJ Moore would be worth the price of the trade — and so far there’s hope that he could be the answer. He made some nice catches that went for touchdowns in Thursday’s practice and the chemistry is slowly building between quarterback Josh Allen and Moore.

On the defensive side of the football C.J. Gardner-Johnson is showing that he’s worth the price of admission. He’s been flying all over the football field in practice and bringing a swagger on defense that’s been missing in the recent past.
The reigning AFC East Champion New England Patriots enter training camp this season with a bona fide number-one wide receiver option after a much-publicized and finally realized trade for A.J. Brown. Brown got off to a slow start in camp adjusting to quarterback Drake Maye, but the two have been making strides and had a great practice on Thursday.
Some members of the media are saying that cornerback Christian Gonzalez is having the best camp of his career as he continues to assert his claim as one of the best corners in the league. Not bad for someone who is rumored to have been offered the largest contract in Patriots’ history.
Switching things over to the New York Jets, who are trying to find their direction heading into the season. They have some intriguing pieces led by wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall but, like seemingly always, the quarterback is the question mark. The anticipated starter under center seems to be Geno Smith, where the veteran hopes his second tenure with the Jets is a whole lot better than the first.
There’s a lot of buzz surround rookie first-round defensive end David Bailey who had a three-sack (unofficial) performance in Thursday’s practice, disrupting a lot of what the offense was trying to do. One of the main questions will be if head coach Aaron Glenn is up to the challenge of being the Jets’ leader into the future. There were moments last season where it appeared the players weren’t giving it their all for Glenn. So… will he be able to pull out 100% effort from this year’s football team?
The Miami Dolphins may be one of the most mysterious teams heading into the season. That’s because no one knows what to expect from quarterback Malik Willis who got a sizeable contract from the Dolphins with little film to go off of from his stint with the Green Bay Packers in 2025. One of the characteristics to love about Willis is that he has a big arm, which he likes to show off.
Second-year defensive end Chop Robinson‘s stock is rising, with him becoming a force in practice and making plays all over the place. Offensive lineman Austin Jackson mentioned that Robinson looks like he packed on some muscle but that he’s also a lot quicker coming off the snap. Miami is entering a critical year in their future as some may consider this a rebuilding season. If it is, then the Dolphins will have a huge decision to make regarding the quarterback position if they find themselves in possession of a high first-round draft pick next April.
