Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever did not have the finish to the 2025 WNBA season they were hoping for. After finishing the year with a 24-20 regular-season record, the Fever earned the No. 6 seed in the playoffs, taking down the No. 3 seed Atlanta Dream in the opening round before falling to the No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. And Indiana did all this without All-WNBA guard Caitlin Clark, who only played in 13 games.
Now, with the WNBA reaching a new collective bargaining agreement, free agency is set to officially open on April 12. As of Sunday, the Fever have just three players under contract for 2026, including Boston, Clark and Makayla Timpson, while other key contributors such as Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull are free agents. However, another free agent recently shared some exciting news amid the offseason.

Arike Ogunbowale, after spending her college career with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, was selected by the Dallas Wings with the No. 5 pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft. She has spent her entire seven-year career with the Wings, earning four All-Star nods and three All-WNBA honors. For her career, Ogunbowale is averaging 19.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
However, in 2025, with the arrival of guard Paige Bueckers, Ogunbowale saw her numbers take a hit. She finished the season averaging career lows of 15.5 points on 36.4% shooting, along with 2.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. And following 2025, Ogunbowale saw her three-year, $725,952 contract with Dallas expire, becoming an unrestricted free agent.

But ahead of April’s free agency, Ogunbowale shared major news on Sunday, announcing on social media that she married her partner, Lala Ronay. The wedding took place on Feb. 24.
“here’s to a lifetime of us 💍♾️ 02.24.26,” Ogunbowale wrote on Instagram.
Boston, along with other WNBA stars, took notice of Ogunbowale’s announcement, leaving a message for the Wings guard in the comments section: “OMG CONGRATSSS 😍😍😍.”
Boston will open her fourth WNBA season on May 9, as the Fever take on the Wings in Indianapolis.
