Angel Reese just had one of the best weeks of her WNBA career, and has been rewarded for it after being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
Angel Reese has been on a run to shut all her haters up in this past week. The Atlanta Dream went 3-0 during the week before this, beating the Aces, the Sparks, and the Mercury.

Reese was immense during these clashes, averaging 24.0 points, 11.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists. She shot an incredible 69 percent from the field during this stretch too.
The Dream star is currently chasing the highest possible seed for the playoffs alongside her teammates. Her rival Caitlin Clark is doing the same with the Indiana Fever, but Reese’s efforts have received rewards over CC’s in week 13 of the season.

Clark averaged 23.0 points, 8.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds herself during this stretch, setting some WNBA records in the process, too. Some fans felt that she should have been named Player of the Week.

However, the W announced that the award was going to Reese, alongside Las Vegas star A’ja Wilson. And there is one key difference between the weeks the two young superstars had.
Reese and Clark may have comparable stats individually, however team results tell a different story. While the Dream had a perfect record during the week, the Indiana Fever went 2-2 in four games.
Helping her team to wins is likely what got Angel the award over her rival. She’s not looking back either, the 24-year-old immediately set the WNBA record for most rebounds in a single game to follow up this stretch.
With the Dream and the Fever both set to make the playoffs, a matchup between the two at the highest level is looking like a very real possibility. The rivalry is heating up once again, and it’s hard to imagine anything more exciting as a WNBA fan.
