After suffering a lower-leg injury late in Thursday’s win over the Seattle Storm, Angel Reese has officially been listed as questionable for Atlanta’s road matchup against the Portland Fire. The designation immediately raises questions about the availability of the three-time All-Star, who has been one of the league’s premier rebounders and a driving force behind the Dream’s success this season.

With the WNBA All-Star break rapidly approaching, Atlanta now faces a difficult decision: allow its star forward time to recover or hope she can play through the injury as the team looks to continue building momentum.

Angel Reese suffered injury late against Seattle

The injury occurred during the closing moments of Atlanta’s victory over the Storm. Reese appeared to tweak her lower leg after going to the floor underneath the basket with just over a minute remaining. She was visibly limping as she made her way off the court with 1:19 left in the game, creating immediate concern for the Dream.

Following the contest, head coach Karl Smesko didn’t have many answers, saying Reese would undergo further evaluation before the team determined the severity of the injury.

Atlanta’s latest injury report has listed Reese as questionable with a lower-leg injury, leaving her status uncertain heading into Saturday afternoon.
