Anthony Edwards put together an impressive stat line in Game 2 for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but as Dave Campbell of The Associated Press notes, it was his “superstar energy” while playing through knee pain that truly lifted the team.
His determination had a noticeable impact on teammates, including Julius Randle.
“It definitely uplifts me,” Randle said.
“I feel like I can’t let him down. If he’s out there battling, then there’s no excuse why I can’t give my best and make the extra effort plays and just go out there and compete at the highest level.”
Despite still dealing with the knee issue that caused him to miss 11 of the team’s final 13 regular season games, Edwards delivered 30 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Edwards has played 6 seasons for the Timberwolves. He has averaged 24.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 442 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 3 All-Star games.
