Bayern Munich has strengthened its frontcourt rotation by signing American forward Miles Norris to a two-year contract through 2028. The 26-year-old wing arrives after one season with FC Barcelona and will look to take on a larger role with Germany’s only EuroLeague representative.
Norris gives Bayern a versatile forward capable of playing both the small forward and power forward positions. The 2.03-meter, 100-kilogram forward averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game in the 2025-26 Liga ACB season with Barcelona, shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range.
His role was more limited in the EuroLeague, where he appeared in 34 games and averaged 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. Norris converted 38.0% of his three-point attempts in the competition, but opportunities were difficult to find in a crowded Barcelona frontcourt that included veteran forward Toko Shengelia.
“His athleticism will help speed up our game – and his good outside shooting will create space,” Bayern sporting director Thorsten Leibenath said. “We are looking for players who can still progress in their development and at the same time have the quality to substantially strengthen our team – we see this combination in Miles.”
The move represents another step in Bayern’s offseason roster reshaping after a 17-21 EuroLeague regular season finish in 2025-26. Bayern ranked 13th in the competition standings and scored 3,063 points across 38 games, the lowest total among teams that finished above 14th place.
Norris adds athleticism and perimeter shooting to a roster that has already undergone several changes. Bayern has brought in Johannes Thiemann, Duane Washington Jr., Austin Wiley and Tobias Jensen while losing Isiaha Mike, Leon Kratzer, Nenad Dimitrijevic, Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Stefan Jovic.
The forward could help replace some of the production lost from Mike, who averaged 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 37 EuroLeague games while shooting 41.8% from three-point range. Norris offers a similar profile as a mobile forward who can stretch the floor and defend multiple positions.
“I think with my assets I can really space the floor well, with my three-point shot and the option to attack the rim athletically and finish with dunks,” Norris said. “I want to deliver the high-energy plays for Bayern.”
Norris joined Barcelona after building momentum in the G League. He averaged 17.1 points per game for the Memphis Hustle during the 2024-25 season, adding 5.5 rebounds while shooting 38.6% from three-point range. That performance earned him a short NBA opportunity with the Boston Celtics, where he appeared in three games in April 2025.
Before turning professional, Norris played at UC Santa Barbara after beginning his college career at Oregon. During the 2022-23 season, he averaged 14.1 points per game and shot 39.1% from beyond the arc, earning All-Big West Second Team honors.
Bayern head coach Anton Gavel believes Norris can make an immediate impact in multiple areas.
“We’re happy that Miles chose us. In his second year he will enter European basketball with more experience and take a step forward,” Gavel said. “Above all, with his athleticism and his shooting he will help us open up the court. He will give us offensive input and, with his versatility, also make an impact on defense.”
