Toledo Mud Hens 2, Indianapolis Indians 0 (box)
The Hens got really good pitching in this one and while the offense wasted some opportunities, it was enough to even the series.
Max Clark led off the game with a walk, but was picked off. I don’t mind this at all. Would love to see him looking to run at all times. The Hens had two baserunners in both the first two innings but failed to score.

In the third, Clark and Max Anderson singled with one out. An Eduardo Valencia single scored Clark, but that was all they got. In the fourth, Trei Cruz tripled and scored on a Tyler Gentry sacrifice fly.
That was all Carl Edwards Jr. needed. After a shaky start, the conversion project to starting has gone better than I though. He tossed 5.2 innings of scoreless, three-hit ball in this one. Ricky Vanasco handled the seventh after Scott Effross cleaned up the sixth. Tyler Mattison has been rolling, and he fired 1.2 innings of no-hit ball, though he did issue two walks. That last walk brought Tanner Rainey on to shut the door with the ol’ one out save.
Clark: 1-3, R, BB
Valencia: 2-4, RBI, K
Anderson: 2-4
Edwards Jr. (W, 4-6): 5.2 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 6 K
Coming Up Next: It’s a 7:05 p.m. ET start on Wednesday with the series tied 1-1.
Harrisburg Senators 5, Erie SeaWolves 2 (box)
Kenny Serwa tossed a decent game, but the bulllpen was a little leaky, and there wasn’t much run support either in this one.

The SeaWolves jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the second. Max Burt started it off with a one-out double and Patrick Lee drilled an opposite field single to score him. Joe Campagna followed with a double and Lee raced first to home for a 2-0 lead.
Unfortunately, the offense dried up after that.
Serwa gave up a run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings before departing. Trevin Michael went two innings but allowed a run, as did Tyler Owens.
The offense really didn’t threaten much the rest of the way, collecting just five hits and four walks.
Lee: 1-3, R, RBI, BB, K
Campagna: 1-3, RBI, 2B, BB
Graham: 0-3, BB, K, SB (47)
Serwa (L, 3-7): 4.0 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 5 K
Coming Up Next: It’s a 6:05 p.m. ET start on Thursday. The Senators lead 2-0 in the series.

West Michigan Whitecaps 14, Fort Wayne TinCaps 1 (box)
The Bryce Rainer experience was in full effect in this one as he posted a monstrous 5-for-5 day with six RBI. Everyone of his hits left the bat harder than 109 mph. It was quite a show.
Lefty Ben Jacobs got the start, and he was really good after a little bit of recent struggle. Jacobs allowed a solo home run, but only two other hits and a walk, while punching out eight on the day.
The Whitecaps seized control in the bottom of the third. Woody Hadeen led off with a walk and took second on a wild pitch. Bryce Rainer ripped an RBI double the opposite way to score Hadeen. Ricardo Hurtado walked and Jackson Strong flew out, but then Rainer and Hurtado caught the TinCaps napping and pulled off a double steal. Clayton Campbell walked to load the bases, and Andrew Sojka lifted a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. Stephen Hrustich then crushed a three-run shot to left to make it 5-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Rainer smashed a 428 solo shot to dead center field off the scoreboard. Campbell opened the fifth with a solo shot of his own. A couple of walks and then an error followed, scoring another run, and a Woody Hadeen ground out scored another. A two-out screamer to center for Rainer’s second double of the game made it 11-1.

Rainer came through again with a two-run single in the seventh. Strong singled him in as well to make it 14-1.

Hadeen: 1-3, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB

The Flying Tigers got good pitching and launched four home runs to win this one on Wednesday.
Josue Briceño doubled but was stranded in the first. In the second, Nick Dumesnil walked and rode home on a two-run shot from Jude Warwick.
Beau Ankeney added a solo shot, his 13th homer of the year, to lead off the third inning.

Starter Cash Kuiper leaked a run in the third, but Dumesnil joined a party with a solo shot of his own to lead off the fourth inning.
In the sixth, Dumesnil drew a leadoff walk and Jesus Pinto singled with one out. Zach MacDonald ripped an RBI single to make it 5-1. Jordan Yost walk to load the bases, and Ankeney came through yet again, drilling a sharp single to left. 6-1 Lakeland.
Luke Hoskins gave up a run in the sixth, but in the eighth, Pinto singled and MacDonald blasted his 14th home run to make it 8-2.
Ankeney: 3-5, R, 2 RBI, HR, K
Pinto: 3-4, 2 R, SB
MacDonald: 2-3, R, 3 RBI, HR, BB, K, SB
