Just a few weeks into the 2026 WNBA season, rumors are already swirling about Caitlin Clark being shipped away by the Indiana Fever. This past week, there was even chatter that Clark was headed to the LA Sparks, supposedly because the Fever no longer wanted to do business with her.
Ahead of the Fever’s Saturday night game against the New York Liberty, Clark was asked about how her approach to such rumors. In response, the two-time WNBA All-Star wondered out loud why the rumors had gotten so much traction in the first place.
“I mean, I don’t really know why we’re still on this…We [the Fever] don’t blatantly sit there and talk about everything you guys were writing and what’s in the media. We’re just talking about how we can be better as a team, and that means that we’re good.”
Clark, who is in her third season with the Fever, stated her belief that she and her teammates are in a good place, relationship-wise.
“We have each other’s backs more than anybody, and I have my teammates’ back more than anybody. Just emphasizing that we don’t want that [the rumors] to come into our locker room.”
If anything, Clark’s expression of solidarity is aligned with her public vote of confidence for head coach Stephanie White, even after their argument during the Indiana-Portland game went viral last week.

Still, the Fever will to have find ways to translate their team dynamic into consistent winning. Hours after CC made those comments, Indiana lost 83-75 to the Liberty at Barclays Center.

Prior to the Liberty-Fever game, Aliyah Boston was asked about Caitlin Clark’s demeanor amidst the tremendous scrutiny from fans and media alike. In response, the Fever center gave props to her fellow All-Star.
“She does a great job. I know there’s so many eyes on her, so many eyes on the squad, and there’s always a lot of comments and thoughts…I think she handles herself very well.”
With a superstar of Clark’s caliber, Boston and the rest of the Fever can expect to be under a microscope for the foreseeable future.
