Despite being without star guard Caitlin Clark for much of the season, the Indiana Fever were able to advance to the semifinal round of the WNBA playoffs. Much of the team’s success can be attributed to forward Aliyah Boston.
The former No. 1 overall pick out of South Carolina averaged a career-high 15 points and 3.7 assists per game, while also grabbing 8.2 rebounds per game. This has been the norm for Boston, who has been named an All-Star in all three of her WNBA seasons.

While Boston’s contract is in fact “epic,” as Clark said, it can be attributed to the league’s new CBA, as explained by the Fever in a statement.
“As part of the league’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the EPIC provision enables top-performing players on rookie contracts to renegotiate the final year of their rookie contract as part of a multi-year extension, contingent upon being named to either the All-WNBA First or Second Team, or named Most Valuable Player within their first three years of play,” wrote the Fever.

“Boston, who was entering the 2026 season on the fourth, and final, year of her rookie contract, was named to the All-WNBA Second Team in 2025,” read the statement.
The Fever clearly love their core as they brought back Kelsey Mitchell on a one-year supermax deal, re-signed Lexie Hull and also brought back sharpshooter Sophie Cunningham.
As for Clark, she will be eligible for an EPIC deal of her own in what will be her fourth WNBA seaosn.
