Caitlin Clark: ‘Winning a championship is my main goal right now’

As Caitlin Clark enters her third professional season with the Indiana Fever, the only thing missing from her meteoric rise to global stardom is winning an elusive WNBA championship.

In her professional career so far, the former Iowa women’s basketball star’s global marketability has popularity has helped spur the WNBA’s growth to record heights as the league tips off its 30th season this weekend. Her ability to inspire the WNBA Players Union to a newly signed collective bargaining agreement that increases the average player salary fourfold from 2025 serves as evidence.

Despite making an estimated $119,000 last season in on-court earnings, Clark ranked sixth in Sportico’s 15 highest-paid female athletes of 2025 by hauling in nearly $16 million in endorsements from companies like Nike, Gatorade, and State Farm. In addition, she recently signed a multi-year sponsorship extension with Xfinity as a brand ambassador, further establishing her as a cornerstone of the company’s basketball strategy across the WNBA and NBA.

Even with all the global marketability and business savvy of the former Hawkeye, Clark still has her sights set on achieving the ultimate goal of securing a WNBA title with Indiana, especially after the injury-riddled 2025 Fever squad narrowly missed out on a trip to the WNBA Finals.

“One of the most important things somebody ever said to me is you’ve reached this point, but as you continue to grow, the thing you have to do is be able to win. I feel like that’s the point I’m kind of at now. You have to be able to win. That’s my main focus, winning and winning a championship. Everything else will come along with that,” Clark told Yahoo Sports.
