Among all the positives in the Toronto Tempo’s start to WNBA life, they still haven’t played their best basketball at home — but today offers a chance to flip the script against the visiting Seattle Storm.

While Toronto has picked up three of its four wins on the road, my Storm vs. Tempo predictions see Marina Mabrey and Co. rocking Coca Cola Coliseum, especially with Seattle missing key frontcourt talent.

Storm vs Tempo prediction

Storm vs Tempo best bet: Tempo -5.5 (-110)

The Toronto Tempo are quickly emerging as ATS darlings, covering the spread in five of their last seven outings, and I’m riding with the hosts against a rebuilding Seattle Storm squad.

With the Tempo content to let it fly — they’re second in the league in made 3-pointers this year — and the Storm vulnerable on the glass without Dominique Malonga and Ezi Magbegor, I’d bet this line even if it creeps north of -6.

We saw this script play out earlier this season as well, when Toronto prevailed in a low-scoring battle and held Seattle to just 28 second-half points.

COVERS INTEL:

Assists are a sign of a flowing offense, and the Storm rank dead last in the WNBA in that category. That could spell trouble against a Toronto offense that ranks among the league’s Top 5 in scoring.

Storm vs Tempo same-game parlay

The 86-73 rockfight between these teams earlier this month feels like a good indicator of what we’ll see today. While I like the Tempo to have the last laugh, particularly with rookie Kiki Rice catching the eye, both squads rank in the bottom five in field goal percentage, and the Storm are last in the WNBA in shots per game.

Seattle has seen totals below the 160-point mark in three of its past four contests, so this O/U is a stretch for the visitors.

Brittney Sykes is ideally suited for that kind of battle, and she knows this opponent well after spending part of last year in Seattle. She grabbed six rebounds in Toronto’s midweek win in Chicago, and I expect the hosts’ guards to make an impact on the glass against a depleted Storm frontcourt.
