Caitlyn Jenner has joined the debate over transgender athletes in the WNBA, backing former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White.

Jenner, who transitioned in 2015, argued that women’s sports should remain separated based on biological sex.

“XX are in, XY are out. It’s that simple,” Jenner told Fox News.

She also accused the league’s approach of “hypocrisy,” supporting Kanter Freedom and White as they challenge its eligibility policies.

The controversy gained attention after Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham publicly opposed transgender women competing in women’s sports, saying she wanted to protect young female athletes.

Kanter Freedom later declared for the WNBA Draft while wearing a shirt reading “Invest in women. Pay women. Hire women.”

White has similarly announced plans to pursue the 2027 WNBA Draft, saying he identifies as transgender for professional basketball purposes.

The WNBA has said there are currently no transgender eligibility issues and condemned “bad-faith efforts to marginalize people.”
