Daniel Cormier praises Mackenzie Dern for being in firm control against Gillian Robertson.
Dern (16-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) was successful in her first strawweight title defense when she outclassed Robertson in Saturday’s UFC 330 co-main event at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

Cormier says Robertson (17-8 MMA, 14-6 UFC) was able to mount little to no offense against Dern.
“It was very evident very early that Robertson really didn’t have anything for Mackenzie,” Cormier said on his YouTube channel. “She dominated. She dominated the grappling. She dominated all areas of the fight, except for Round No. 5, where Gillian was able to get her down and keep her down for an extended period of time.
“I can’t say or take anything away from Mackenzie. I just don’t believe that she should give anyone, especially someone that she outclasses, anything positive to try to build off of. But all in all, she looked explosive. Her striking looked better. Obviously, her grappling is top notch, and she completely dominated and now has defended her strawweight championship in the UFC.”
Robertson’s performance left her head coach Din Thomas so frustrated to the point that he announced immediately after that he will retire from cornering fighters.
