It has been more than a year since a controversial trade occurred before the deadline, as Luka Doncic was sent to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis.

While teams were aggressively pursuing stars this offseason, the Boston Celtics gave away their superstar Jaylen Brown for veteran forward Paul George.

Speaking on Draymond Green’s podcast, the four-time champion shared an honest take on the recent trade.

“No disrespect to Paul George, but this isn’t an even swap. I got a lot of love for PG. but like myself, PG is 36 years old. Not like myself. I’m going into year 15. I think PG is going into year 17. And Jaylen Brown, not even 30 years old. He’s 29 years old and he’s going into year 11,” Green said.

Green discussed the age gap of both stars and weighed in on Brown’s value after Brown obtained Finals MVP two years ago and made the All-NBA second team this year.

By the way, he [Brown] won Finals MVP two years ago. I think he just made the All-NBA Second Team this year, was arguably, controversially, possibly could have been a first-team performer, but the votes are what they are. So it’s not an even swap. Like when you’re talking just player for player, it’s not,” he added.

The Philadelphia 76ers obviously won the trade, but if this had occurred a decade ago, this could have been considered a blockbuster deal.

George’s prime might be passed after dealing with several injuries. He averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Brown just came off his best season in his career, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
