The 2026 WNBA season will tip off May 8, consisting of 44 regular-season games. 2026 will mark the 30th season in WNBA history.

The 2026 season will feature two expansion teams: Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo. After the season, Connecticut will relocate to Houston, Texas.

The sixth annual WNBA Commissioner’s Cup in-season tournament will take place June 1-17. The WNBA All-Star Game is also scheduled for July 25 at United Center in Chicago, Illinois, hosted by the Sky.

Aug. 31 through Sept. 16 will mark a FIBA break. The last day of the regular season is slated for Sept. 24.

Ahead of the 2026 season, Janiah Barker and Zee Spearman became the 47th and 48th Lady Vols selected all time in the WNBA draft. Barker was the 29th overall pick in the second round (Las Vegas), while Spearman was selected No. 31 overall in the third round (Dallas).

On April 26, Spearman was waived by the Wings.
