Former Notre Dame star Skyler Diggins delivered a vintage performance on Friday night, and it came exactly at the right time for the Chicago Sky.
Diggins poured in 24 points for the Sky, with 18 of them coming in the first half. She also had three rebounds and four assists which helped spark the Sky to an 85-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun that snapped a five-game losing streak for Chicago. Diggins set the tone early and kept Chicago close every time Connecticut tried to pull away.

With the game hanging in the balance late, Diggins was able to put her head down and get to the rim to draw a three-point play with 1:20 remaining that helped give the Sky an 80-77 lead. Diggins then went to the free throw line late and was able to clinch the victory for the reeling Sky.
Now in her first season in Chicago after signing a two-year deal with the Sky in April, Diggins has stepped up as the face of this new era for the Chicago franchise after they traded Angel Reese to Atlanta this offseason. The seven-time All-star is currently averaging 14.1-points, 5-assists, and 4.1-rebounds this season.
For Notre Dame fans, Friday’s win offered a familiar sight: Diggins controlling tempo, dictating crunch time and once again making her presence felt on the big stage.
