Alabama Crimson Tide have a shot at a legacy quarterback commitment following a telling statement from elite 2028 recruit

by

Kalen DeBoer has a history of not only getting quarterbacks to the NFL, but also getting the quarterback that he wants in recruiting. Well, there is a name in the 2028 class that knows that better than most, and he’s eyeing the Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide already boasts one of the strongest quarterback rooms in the 2027 recruiting class with Trent Seaborn and Elijah Haven. But the 2028 class tells a different story, with Charles Scott as the lone quarterback commitment. That could change in a big way if Graham Simpson, one of the most productive signal-callers in the state of Tennessee, decides to follow his older brother’s footsteps to Tuscaloosa.

Rivals recently released updated intel on the 2028 recruiting class, and Simpson’s name jumped off the page for Alabama fans. Graham is the younger brother of former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, who went in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Rams. The family connection alone would generate buzz, but Graham’s production on the field makes him far more than just a legacy recruit.

Graham Simpson Facts

  • Son of a college football coach.

  • Threw for over 4,000 yards and over 50 touchdowns as a freshman.

  • Threw a 99-yard TD pass in the state championship game in 2025.

Graham Simpson’s numbers speak for themselves

Over the past two seasons, Simpson has thrown for more than 7,000 passing yards and 100 touchdown passes. He is only entering his junior season of high school football. Those are staggering numbers for a player who still has 2 seasons of varsity ball ahead of him, and they position him as a potential top-tier quarterback recruit by the time the 2028 cycle wraps up.
