As private equity continues to make its way into college athletics, the idea of placing a value on a college football program is no longer a pure hypothetical. With investment deals already reaching programs and allowing them to place patches on uniforms, conferences, and discussions about what a team could be worth have become increasingly relevant.

Using updated financial data, revenue figures, brand strength and other factors, The Athletic recently estimated the market value of every Power Four football program, offering a look at what each team might command in a theoretical sale.

Where does Florida land among the Power Four programs and how does the brand stack up financially?

Despite mediocre results on the field over the last few years, Florida remains one of college football’s biggest financial powerhouses. The Gators landed in the nation’s top 20 programs, sitting at 12 in revenue and brand value.

Florida is addressing the stadium with the ongoing $1.45 billion renovation of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The renovation is believed to be the most expensive stadium overhaul in college football history.

When you add in first-year head coach Jon Sumrall, the big investment signals Florida’s commitment to returning to its historical prominence on and off the field.
