LAS VEGAS – There’s been a modicum of beef between King Green and Terrance McKinney in the buildup to their fight at UFC 329.
And perhaps because of the friction between the two, and the reason for it, Green (35-17-1 MMA, 16-12-1 UFC) doesn’t have a hell of a lot of interest in letting McKinney (18-8 MMA, 8-5 UFC) off the hook with a quick end to his night.

From McKinney’s perspective, he hasn’t won a fight in the UFC when he’s left the first round. And all but one of the wins in his career have been first first-round stoppages among his 100 percent finish rate.
“He’s a quick pumper,” Green said at Wednesday’s media day for 329, which takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. “(He’s like), ‘Ahhhh, ahhhhhh! Baby, I’m done.’ Get out of here. I’ll fight for a while. We’re going the distance. We’ll see where it goes, but I come to fight. I come to fight a long time, not just one round.”
McKinney’s finishes have been fast and largely furious in the UFC – again, all in the opening frame. But the best he’s been able to put together is a two-fight winning streak several times, and the inconsistency may have hurt him.
He also has never faced anyone with as much experience as Green has – north of 50 fights.

“Terrence is a wild card,” Green said. “He wins fights I think he shouldn’t have won, and then I think he loses fights that you think he would win. He’s a wild card. What you get is what you get. You never know.”
Green’s on one of the best stretches of his UFC career right now with three straight wins, and they’ve been in just the past seven months. He’s staying active, even at 39, and thinks that’s the best way to keep things.
“I’m still kicking ass at 39. It’s cool. But for me, I think it’s more so proving everybody wrong,” Green said. “Everybody that looked at and thought I was done, and there’s been a lot of people that wrote me off, a lot of people that forgot about me and treated me a certain way when they don’t think you’re going to be something. It is what it is, but at least I get my little bit of revenge.”
