In an unusual wrinkle, Stewart entered the top 10 in scoring — the latest achievement in her Hall of Fame career — with Parker in the building.

With 8:58 to go in the third quarter of Thursday night’s game, Stewart was fouled by the Las Vegas Aces‘ Jackie Young as she laid the ball in on a drive to the rim.
With her 13th and 14th points of the game, Stewart passed Parker with 6,576 career points. Parker was calling the game as a color commentator as Stewart passed her, and the three-time MVP quipped “she made sure I was courtside for it.”
Despite a 26-point effort, Stewart was unable to lead the Liberty past the Aces in a rematch of the Commissioner’s Cup final.

A’ja Wilson ultimately outdid Stewart on the night, in a matchup of two players who have combined to win the last three MVP awards. Wilson scored a game-high 33 as Las Vegas held home court in a 104-99 victory.
But for Stewart’s outstanding season continued for the inconsistent Liberty, and she’s passed Parker on the all-time points list with so much time still left in her career.
