The UFC’s fall schedule continues to fill up with the addition of a strawweight bout to October’s UFC Fight Night 290 event.
Strawweight contender Loopy Godinez (14-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) will look to get back on track against the surging Ketlen Souza (17-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC) in a three-round bout on the Oct. 10 card at Meta APEX in Las Vegas (Paramount+). Two people with knowledge of the booking informed MMA Junkie of the news Wednesday. The people requested anonymity because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Godinez, No. 7 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie strawweight rankings, is coming off a submission loss to Tatiana Suarez at UFC 327 in April. The 32-year-old had previously won back-to-back fights against former champ Jessica Andrade and Julia Polastri.
She now clashes with unranked Souza, who has won two-straight, including a 94-second knockout of Ariane Carnelossi in her previous outing at UFC Fight Night 278 in June. The 32-year-old has won four of her past six overall.
