The NBA has decided not to discipline Bam Adebayo following last week’s altercation with former Miami Heat teammate Tyler Herro in Las Vegas.
A league spokesperson told The Athletic that the decision was made after discussions involving the NBA, both players, and the National Basketball Players Association.
“After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league,” the spokesperson said.
Neither the Milwaukee Bucks, the Miami Heat, nor the NBPA commented on the league’s decision.
The incident took place at the Resorts World Las Vegas hotel, where Herro’s AAU team was practicing.
According to the report, Herro shouted something toward Adebayo before the Heat center approached and punched him.
Players and coaches quickly intervened to separate the two before Adebayo left the facility.
Adebayo and Herro spent seven seasons together in Miami before Herro was traded to the Bucks as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Milwaukee.
The report also noted that, following the trade, screenshots of alleged Instagram direct messages linked to Herro circulated on social media, appearing to criticize Adebayo’s play and his contracts with the Heat.
