Nebraska recruiting target commits to different Big Ten team

by

A four-star wide receiver and Nebraska football target has committed to a Big Ten rival. Class of 2027 prospect Matthew Gregory committed to the UCLA Bruins on Friday afternoon.

Gregory is the 133rd player in his class, 22nd player at his position, and eighth overall player in his class from the state of Pennsylvania, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Nebraska was thought to be in this recruitment for quite a while. He visited Nebraska last weekend, his only visit to the campus.

Now, Nebraska has to reshuffle its wide receiver board a little bit. New Jersey four-star wide receiver Isaiah Alvarez moved up his commitment date to Saturday. This could be something to monitor now, with Gregory no longer in the fold.

This is certainly a miss, but the Huskers could have other options at the wide receiver position. If anything, why receiver is the one position where they could afford to suffer a miss or two, given the depth.
