We are now less than two weeks away from Ohio Stadium being full of scarlet and gray and cheering on Ohio State football this fall. The Buckeyes open up the 2026 season by hosting Ball State on Saturday, Sept. 5, and some changes inside the ‘Shoe are significant.
For one, the installation of the new field turf is complete, and it does look good. OSU decided to replace the turf inside Ohio Stadium to bring it up to NFL standards, and it’s like getting a fresh coat of paint on the venerable stadium on the banks of the Olentangy.

That’s not all that will be evident when walking into the football cathedral, however. On Wednesday, Ohio State unveiled nine field-level suites that are primed to be open and ready for business by next Saturday. On top of those suites are some premium seating as well, adding a little bougie feel to the ‘Shoe. We knew about these suites coming to the south stands already, but thanks to the wonderment of social media, we got our first look at them.
First, a look at the location and the outside of the on-field suites.
And now for the inside, which, by the looks of it, has quite a way to go before being ready.
They look pretty roomy, but I have to admit that while field level is nice, it’s not the best location to take in the action because it’s going to be awfully hard to see things down on the north side. But still, we’re sure the inside of these things will have food, drink, and all the electronic fixings to stay in touch with everything anyhow. It’s too bad we don’t get a look at the finished product on the inside, but if that becomes available, we’ll be on top of it.

Oh, and if you were looking forward to cuddling up inside one of these on-field suites, you might want to rub elbows with some corporate executives in town because the price for one is $142,700 per year. Yes, tailgating just went to a whole new level with these.
