Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings had a great start to their 2026 WNBA campaign, defeating Catilin Clark and the Indiana Fever on the road in a season opener last Saturday.

It hasn’t been all that great for the Wings since. Whatever momentum they had coming off that win over Indiana has now been lost after back-to-back home losses.
Dallas was edged by the Atlanta Dream to the tune of a 77-72 score on Tuesday at College Park Center in Arlington before suffering a 90-86 defeat at the hands of the visiting Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night at the same venue.
Paige Bueckers wants the Wings to keep their focus despite recent setbacks, while also acknowledging where they are falling short.
“We don’t want to panic, but we also want to hold ourselves accountable,” Bueckers told reporters in the postgame press conference, via Dorothy J. Gentry of NABJ Sports Task Force on X, formerly Twitter.

It’s hard to blame Bueckers, however, for the Wings’ early stumble, considering how well she’s been playing so far in the season.
After scoring 20 points in the win over the Fever, the former UConn Huskies star dropped 15 points in the Atlanta game. In the loss to the Lynx, the 24-year-old Paige Bueckers racked up a total of 27 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field with eight assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of action.
Defense appears to be an issue for Dallas, having given up an average of 89.0 points through three games.
The Wings will look to turn things around and be better on Monday, when they host the Washington Mystics.
