Patchy Mix’s post-Bellator career continued trending in the wrong direction Monday as he took another L, this time on the scale.
For his bantamweight co-main event vs. Shoko Sato in at RIZIN 54, Mix weighed in at 140.7 pounds (63.85kg) – a staggering 6.3 pounds over the limit of 134.4 (61kg). While the fight will go on, Mix is ineligible to earn a victory, per RIZIN rules, which state that an overweight fighter’s win will automatically be overturned to a no contest.

Also, RIZIN elevated another bout to serve as the co-main event over Mix vs. Sato as a consequence of Mix’s weight miss.
It’s a continued fall from grace for Mix, who as recently as 2024 was discussed by MMA pundits as perhaps being the best bantamweight in the world while he was Bellator champion. But since departing Bellator, which was absorbed by PFL, things have fallen apart.
Mix had a chance to make his mark in the UFC but lost his first two octagon appearances to Mario Bautista (unanimous decision) in June 2025 and Jakub Wikłacz (split decision) four months later, leading to his abrupt UFC release.

Mix made his RIZIN debut at featherweight this past March and lost by second-round TKO to Kyoma Akimoto for his third loss in a row.
