The Toronto Raptors are keeping Trayce Jackson-Davis under contract for the 2026-27 season, as NBA insider Shams Charania reported Monday that the team is exercising the center’s $2.4 million team option.

Jackson-Davis, 26, joined Toronto during the 2025-26 season after spending the first part of his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors. The Raptors acquired him as frontcourt depth and will now retain a player who brings rebounding, finishing and interior defense to their rotation.

The former second-round pick appeared in 17 games for Toronto last season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in 5.0 minutes per game. He shot 50.0% from the field and recorded 0.3 blocks per contest in limited minutes, though his opportunities were restricted behind Toronto’s established big-man group.

Before arriving in Toronto, Jackson-Davis had a larger role with Golden State. Across 36 games with the Warriors in 2025-26, he averaged 4.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 11.4 minutes per game while shooting 58.8% from the field.

Jackson-Davis has been one of the league’s most efficient interior scorers since entering the NBA. Over three seasons, he has averaged 6.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game while shooting 63.1% from the field, relying almost entirely on shots around the rim. He has attempted only three-pointers in rare situations, as his offensive profile is built around screens, cuts and finishing.

The option decision gives Toronto additional depth at center behind Jakob Poeltl and Sandro Mamukelashvili. Poeltl averaged 10.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game during the 2025-26 season, while Mamukelashvili provided 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 21.9 minutes and finished among the league’s top sixth-man candidates.

Toronto’s frontcourt also includes young players such as Scottie Barnes and Collin Murray-Boyles, who both logged significant minutes in a season where the Raptors finished 46-36 and reached the playoffs. Toronto pushed Cleveland to seven games in the first round before falling 4-3.

The Raptors’ decision comes shortly after the 2026 NBA Draft, where the team selected forward Allen Graves with the 19th overall pick and guard Jaden Bradley with the 50th pick. Maintaining Jackson-Davis’ low-cost deal preserves roster flexibility while keeping a reliable interior option.
