Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is not going anywhere for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season. Stenhouse has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay in the No. 47 car for Hyak Motorsports beyond the 2026 Cup Series campaign, the team announced. The specific terms for the Hyak Motorsports driver’s contract were not disclosed.
Heading into the NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway, Stenhouse sits 27th in the point standings behind Todd Gilliland and ahead of John Hunter Nemechek. The driver of the No. 47 car finished the 2025 NASCAR season sitting 30th in the point standings, so it has been a slight improvement.

Stenhouse doesn’t have the equipment needed to become a consistent winner in the Cup Series; however, the superspeedway program for Hyak Motorsports is good enough to enter victory lane. The 2023 Daytona 500 champion should be a threat on superspeedways, with hope for more overall speed soon.
