San Antonio Spurs star Stephon Castle shared a warm and playful moment with fellow UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers on Saturday in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals.
The Spurs scored a massive 111-103 victory on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder to advance to the NBA Finals.

Right after the final buzzer, celebrations for San Antonio immediately commenced, and the moment between Castle and Bueckers was caught on tape.
The two embraced, but the Spurs guard noticed the Thunder shirt in Bueckers’ back pocket. Castle quickly grabbed it, and threw it onto the floor.
This drew laughter from both the NBA and WNBA Rookie of the Year winners before they continued savoring the moment.
Even though Castle and the Spurs haven’t won the NBA title just yet, Bueckers and the Dallas Wings are looking to replicate this success this season in the WNBA.

If the stars align for both Castle and Bueckers, they’ll be able to capture NBA and WNBA titles, along with their national championships to boot. It’s a much harder path for Bueckers at this point, though, with the Wings still in the early part of the WNBA season.
Castle played a major role for the Spurs in the closeout game against the Thunder. He finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes.
The No. 4 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.6 assists against Oklahoma over the grueling seven-game series.

Aside from the offensive output from the 6-foot-6 combo guard, his defensive presence was also felt throughout the series.
Next stop for the Spurs is the Eastern Conference champions, the New York Knicks, in the rematch of the 1999 NBA Finals.
San Antonio is looking to repeat history and defeat the Knicks to secure their sixth NBA title and tie the Chicago Bulls for the fourth-most titles in league history.
Lastly, the Spurs eye revenge against the Knicks, which denied them the NBA Cup title in December.
