The Minnesota Lynx will put their six-game winning streak on the line as they host the Seattle Storm on Saturday afternoon.

Minnesota may outclass their opponent in this game, but the Seattle defense has me backing it to cover the massive spread in my Storm vs. Lynx predictions below.

Let’s take a closer look at this matchup with my free WNBA picks for Saturday, June 6.

Storm vs Lynx prediction

Storm vs Lynx best bet: Storm +13.5 (-125)

As poor as the Seattle Storm have been this season, they’ve played strong defense, allowing only 81.3 ppg. It’s hard to get blown out playing that way. In 11 games, Seattle has only lost by more than 13 three times.

The Storm allow only 0.89 points per play and hold opponents to 29.2% beyond the arc, the lowest three-point shooting percentage in the league.

The Minnesota Lynx are far better than the Storm, but the tenor of this game will keep it closer than the spread suggests, and I like the Storm to cover at +11.5 or more.

COVERS INTEL:

The Storm hold their opponents to an effective field goal percentage of 46.3%, the second-best mark in the WNBA.

Storm vs Lynx same-game parlay

I’m backing the Under for the same reason that I like the Storm to cover today. The Seattle defense is simply too good to let this game get out of hand, and it is playing to an average total of 156.9 ppg.

When you consider that both teams rank within the top three in the WNBA in defensive rating, we’re set up for a low-scoring affair tonight.

I’ll also take Natasha Howard to dish out Over 2.5 assists this afternoon. Howard is averaging 3.4 assists per game, and while she did get held without an assist on Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries, that ended a streak of six straight games with at least three assists.

There’s no reason not to back Howard to get back to that total again on Saturday.
