Terrion Arnold will land on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list when his contract with the Seattle Seahawks becomes official, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.

His placement on the commissioner’s exempt list means that Arnold won’t be permitted to practice or play as long as he’s on it. Arnold will be permitted to attend team meetings. He won’t count against Seattle’s 53-man roster if he remains on the list at cut-down day.

Arnold was released by the Detroit Lions in June following his arrest on eight felony charges of kidnapping and armed robbery in Florida. Arnold has denied his involvement in the alleged incident. The third-year cornerback and former first-round pick worked out with multiple NFL teams before agreeing to a deal with the Seahawks last week.

Arnold attended a virtual arraignment hearing last week and is reportedly scheduled for an in-person court appearance in Tampa on Oct. 5. He won’t be eligible to play until and if he’s removed from the commissioner’s exempt list. The Seahawks will have played four regular season games prior to Arnold’s scheduled court date in October.
